Autoclaves for hospital waste sterilization

Operation for sterilization autoclave:

1- Manual introduction of product carts inside the autoclave （automatic option）
2- Manual door closing  (automatic option)

3- Door closing system and safety manual activation (automatic option)
4- Specific sterilization cycle activation (Start of sterilization cycle)
5- End of selected cycle, door unlock and sterilized waste carts removal.

Operation of the sterilization cycle:

1- PRE-VACUUM: Breaking of the packages or cans that may contain the waste so that the sterilization can reach all the products inside the cart. This cycle of pre-vacuum can be done as many times as required in order to be able to guarantee the breakage of the containers, depending on the type of waste that the sterilizer contains.

2- HEATING AND STERILIZATION: Through the modulating valve, steam is introduced into the autoclave so as to guarantee the homogeneous heating. This program enables to make additional gaps during the heating and sterilization and allows subsequent breakages of waste parts and/or waste container bags in order to ensure the elimination and sterilization of all products. Gases produced before sterilization is eliminated through a HEPA filter (biological/ bacteriological filter) to ensure the elimination of any impurity and the release of hygienic air.

3- CONDENSATES DISCHARGE Once the sterilization cycle is completed, these condensates are discharged out of the autoclave. These condensates must be discharged in a purge well or in a purge cooler in order to cool to <50ºC and be discharged into the drainage network.

4- DRAINING: A final vacuum is made to drain and evaporate the condensates that may have remained. Vacuum air passes through a normal filter to remove impurities. Since this air is sterile, a bypass of HEPA filter is made so as to ensure the best efficiency and durability.

5- END OF CYCLE: Once the cooling process is completed, the autoclave automatically discharges the residual pressure. At this moment the autoclave cycle ends, the operator can proceed to unlock and open the door for the extraction of containers and the end of the cycle. Afterwards, the autoclave will be again ready to operate for the next load.
